Public Power News in an Exciting Virtual Package
Clatskanie PUD is proud to introduce Public Power Underground
(CLATSKANIE, OREGON, February 9) The Power Department at Clatskanie People’s Utility District found a new and creative way to cope with remote work and professional isolation over the course of the pandemic. As their weekly department meetings transitioned to video conferences instead of in person meetings, the team started developing a weekly public power and public power adjacent news series named Public Power Underground.
Public Power Underground has evolved to a fun forum to cover news, talk to peers across the region, and make new friends amidst a pandemic. The team focuses on niche power topics like northwest power markets, power supply, fish, electric rate structures, and electric vehicle programs. The shows aren’t always short, they aren’t always long, but they’re occasionally funny and always earnest.
If you are an electric utility enthusiast like us, Public Power Underground can be found on YouTube or your favorite podcast app. It is easy to become a “Friend of the Underground” so you won’t miss a show. Just be aware, you might get recruited to appear as a guest.
