You're Invited to the Eleventy-First Episode
Friends-of-the-Underground are invited to a special in-person recording of the eleventy-first and final episode of Public Power Underground in Kalama, WA
Public Power Underground is coming to an end (at least with me as its protagonist). To celebrate the eleventy-first and final episode of Public Power Underground, we are hosting a party of special significance on Sunday August 25, 2024 in Kalama, Washington. Please RSVP!
Doors open at 1pm, the entertainment starts at 3pm, and there will be a concert by friend-of-the-underground and Nashville recording artist, Daryl Wayne Dasher, after the podcast recording. We expect to end around 7pm.
The celebration is family friendly, friend friendly, guest friendly, and pet friendly. There are trails, swings, and a slip-n-slide to explore and enjoy.
Energy System Analogy World Cup
The eleventy-first episode and season 6 finale will feature the Energy System World Cup championship tournament. We are excited to have two celebrity judges for a bracket tournament to get from the top 12 analogies to a single World Cup Champion. If you hurry, your vote can help determine the top 12 analogies from the season. You can participate by voting using the google form linked here.
You’re also invited to participate in an open-mic segment!
After the crowning the Energy System Analogy World Cup Champion we’re recording an open-mic segment. Folks are invited to share their area of energy enthusiasm in 1 minute and 20 seconds or less. The messages should be similar to the cold open stump speeches from Season 5. The best messages from the open-mic will be included in the published recording. Please plan to start your message with your name and then deliver a compelling message of energy enthusiasm in 01:20 or less.
Logistics:
RSVP to get the address: fill out the google form and answer a friend-of-the-underground question to get the address. Google maps does a good job of locating our home.
Limited parking: if you can carpool, it’s highly recommended. There will be someone directing cars to parking along the dirt road from 1pm to 3pm. After 3pm you’re on your own.
Bring-snacks-to-share: pulled pork sandwiches will be available, but there won’t be any sides, shareables, or snacks. There will be table space if you bring something you want to share with the group.
Bring-your-own-drinks: there will be water and a limited selection of specialty drinks provided, but if you or your guests want something specific, bring it along.
Bring-a-tip-for-Daryl: There will be a tip bucket for the concert. Tips for the Daryl are encouraged, all the money goes to the artist. Daryl also has venmo and paypal where he accepts tips.
Bring-a-chair: There will be some seating provided, but probably not enough for everyone. You’re encouraged to bring your own beach chair/lawn chair/picnic blanket if you have an easily transportable one.
There is also specialized merch. As usual, there are no proceeds from merch sales, the purchase is directly from Printful because the storefront is no longer active.
